Recently my son convinced me that it's time for a big boy clothes quilt. I guess he thinks the one with his baby clothes is so "five years ago." I love that he asked, so I indulged him and made a small keepsake of a few items that he selected. He even participated by showing off his goofy side in the photo shoot. Want to know what's more fun than making a quilt for a new baby? Making a quilt for a new baby out of her family's clothing! This truly special quilt for new baby, Billie, contains her mother's wedding dress, her father's work event t-shirt, and pajamas, a necktie, and underwear (yes, I said underwear) from her two big brothers. Welcome to the world, Billie. You won the lottery when you got your family. This quilt, ordered for an 8 year old girl, included onesies, jackets, travel t-shirts, dresses, skirts, and school/camp shirts. It even included a shirt designed and created by her with fabric markers for a school trip. The back of the quilt was made from her old floral twin bed sheet. This was a really fun quilt to make, and I hope that Sylvie and her family love it. |
